Meike Akurgo-Beukema – Secretary

My name is Meike Akurgo-Beukema and I am the secretary of the Hope for Dogs Foundation. Some time ago, I met Kelly while fostering a dog for another foundation. We started talking, and her vision on fostering and rehabilitating dogs that need just that little bit more appealed to me. I saw how Kelly, with passion and full dedication, gave her all every day for the dogs in her care. When the Hope for Dogs Foundation was established, I was immediately enthusiastic. It is precisely the dogs that often fall through the cracks that are seen by Hope for Dogs. Based on my experience within another foundation, I was asked to help look into sponsorship for the Hope for Dogs Foundation. I am now also involved in the board as secretary. Within the board, I want to contribute to the vision that ‘everything revolves around the happiness of the dog’. Quality over quantity and full attention over quick adoptions.
